TipSplit helps groups split restaurant bills. We try to collect as little as possible. This page explains what we do collect and why.

Email sign-ups

If you join our updates list on this website, we store the email address you enter so we can tell you about new features. Sign-ups are stored with our hosting provider, Netlify. We don't sell your email. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Receipt photos

When you scan a receipt in the TipSplit app, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini service so the line items and prices can be read. We use the result to show your split. We don't use receipt photos for advertising.

Splits and names

The names and items you enter to split a bill are used to calculate who owes what. Settings such as your $cashtag are saved on your own device.

Payments between friends

TipSplit never handles money between friends. Payment buttons open Cash App, Venmo or PayPal, and those services' own privacy policies apply there.

Hosting and logs

Our website and app are hosted on Netlify, which may keep standard server logs such as IP addresses and browser type for security and reliability.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. For questions or deletion requests, message us on the TipSplit Facebook page.
